think maybe meiling should have a bit more pause/more obvious tells when she does the grounded dash attack, i found it a bit hard to avoid damage when she comboes it with her other attacks (not always, but often), especially because the windups to the attacks look so similar, AND they're fast, AND because her dash goes way further than yours does-so if you dash in the wrong direction (due to misinterpreting the windups) you end up landing on her.
also she spams it a lot in a row for some reason, i dunno if i was just unlucky lol
The presentation in this demo is pretty immaculate. However, I'm having a really hard time with landing on platforms. The movement feels super loose and it makes precise platforming a bit frustrating. If there were a way to instantly cancel momentum in the air sort of like how the dash does (but without moving forward), then I think that would be nice.
The game got updated and all of my complaints have been addressed. Sank you very much. I've only got one question left: how did you end up using Tek's music? Did you ask them for permission?

Before anything else; I haven't fully completed the demo (mostly because of my skill issue lol). Skill issue aside, I still have some problems other than "vidoe game 2hard4me :(".
The point collect sound effect is too loud / punchy, maybe try replacing it with something similar to the more silent clicking noise like in the official games? Or just anything more silent really.
Let us change controls!!! This might be an obvious thing to say but just let us use different keybinds, the default controls can be a bit weird imo (enter key pause button...).
Overall, good(?) demo from what I've played so far. Probably not for me but I hope my input helps :-)
very cool stuff, love the style, music is great, combat with Sanae's movement feels nice, and the boss was interesting!
level design is alright, Sanae's air movement is very snappy, making platforming pretty dang tight, especially in the second half of the stage lols. that last platforming section is REALLY tense because of all this, on top of taking a while to even GET there, even with some minor skips i learned. it's really easy to slip off if you don't tap back after holding forward and jumping to kill your forward momentum
also i'm pretty much convinced those random traps before Meiling were designed to prank you for holding right and nothing else 😭 why are those thereeee
overall, solid stuff, interested to see where it goes!
