An Update!!!! (crazy, i know)

It's been a while!

First off, I wanna say I appreciate ALL of you who decided to do so much as take a look at the game. It might not seem like a lot of people, but for a small shot like me, it's a ton, so THANK YOU  for trying the game out! That being said, I looked at the feedback I received, and I'll be implementing what I can from your suggestions, so be on the look out for that.

Now, for the update!

Ordinarily in updates like these, people would say things like "the game is 58% done" or, "with my team of elite super-programmers and devils, we have completed 92.53% of the game, and we have a projected launch window of [[Not in Your Lifetime!!!]]." But,  I'm not able to gauge how much I've actually finished, or even try to quantify that.

So I'll just tell you what's been going on, and you can decide the percentage for yourself.

Let's start with stages.

As you can see on the stage select screen, there are 7 planned stages in the game. Of those 7 stages, 2 are completed, 2 are being programmed, 1 has its layout finished, and will be programmed soon, and another is having its layout drafted and tweaked. This leaves only 1 stage in a complete conceptual phase.

Next, let's look at new graphics.

While working on other projects, my ability to make sprites also improved! Usually, this would be a good thing, but for me, it means I'm not satisfied with the character graphics I made for the game, which also means I'm going to redo them, among other things.

As a result, I'll have to redo the other members' sprites. However, their animations have already been finished, so I just have to remake them, rather than starting from scratch.

This means it shouldn't impact development time, unless something goes horribly wrong somehow. So just relax, and look at the cool pictures...

To start, I updated the HUD to be more thematically fitting.

First, take one last look at the old HUD.

Now, here's the updated one!

I might even update the font in the future, too. Who knows... Cause I don't......

Next, take a look at Gura's new design.

This might cause ENORMOUS amounts of controversy, but I've removed the smile from her idle pose, since it wasn't exactly fitting in certain situations. Instead, I opted for a more neutral expression, similar to Kirby's. This doesn't mean she'll be expressionless though, since it wouldn't be Gawr Gura if she wasn't expressive!

Speaking of working on other projects...

To avoid getting completely burnt out from exclusively working on this game, I've been working on other projects, like a 2D Zelda styled RPG with shmup elements,

and a spooky platformer taking after Mario and Castlevania, that you can see updates on, here!

With all of that said, I'd like to say that I DO have a planned release date, but I won't announce it until I'm confident I can reach it, so that if I miss it, you can't get mad at me :-)

If it seems like things are taking a long time, I understand and agree, but ask you to be patient, since I'm just one person doing everything except creating the music and sound effects.

Anyway, that's it for the update. Keep your eyes peeled for another update, or maybe even the full game...

See ya!
